What Kids Need To Know About Hygiene

What kids need to know about hygiene is that it a very important thing for them. They can get very sick or get others sick with bad hygiene. Just remember you touch everything and so does everyone else. You would not want to touch a door knob after some one has sneezed, or coughed in their hand then opened that door would you? Teaching kids about proper hygiene will help them throughout their entire lives. It is important to start good habits early in life.

Teaching Kids To Prevent Spreading Germs

There are tons of ways you can prevent the spread of germs to others. I will post a list of things that will help you decrease the spread of nasty germs.

1. Wash hands frequently. After you sneeze or cough, you use the rest room, if you touch something nasty, have taken the garbage out, cleaning things, yard work and so on. You can never wash your hands enough if you do not have access to doing so then carry sanitizer or wipes with you so you can disinfectyour hands.
2. If you are sick try to keep yourself away from others till it is gone.
3. Stay away from people that are sick.
4. If you have to sneeze try to do it in the bend of your elbow. This will reduce the amount of germs that get into the air.

What Can Children Do To Maintain Good Hygiene

• Take a bath regularly. If that is not possible for whatever reason then at least wash yourself with a soapy rag and water.
• Brush your teeth every day if possible two times a day. Let them know if they do not that they will loose their teeth and if they are older that they will not grow back. Tell them they will get some really painful cavities and have to go to the dentists to have them taken out.
• Wash your hair and brush it. Try to keep it looking maintained.
• Put clean clothing on daily. Do not wear what you have worn to bed all day and outside.
• Wear clean socks everyday.
• Wear clean under clothing everyday.
• Frequently wash hands.
• If you use the rest room make sure you clean yourself up properly when you are through

Everything I have mentioned above you will want to try and keep doing on a daily basis. If you do not have good hygiene then others will not want to be around you. I know that I definitely do not want to be around some one that smells like a dirty gym sock or a garbage heap. Not just that but do you want to spend most of the time sick because you do not want to take a bath or wash up? That does not sound like any kind of fun to me now. I know when am down and out I will get in the shower and it brings me back to myself and I feel like a new person all over again.

What Can I Do When My Child Wants To Fight About Being Clean

If your child for whatever reason does not like to wash up and be clean this is when you as the parent and adult in the matter have to step in and talk to them about hygiene. If that does not work for you then you need to take further actions like taking things away from them and not letting them do things they want to do. There may be a deeper reason as to why they may not want or care to have good hygiene but you have to find the root of the problem and nip it in the bud. Kids learn from their parents or other adults, so please make them known how important it is to keep clean.
