Tips On Getting Kids To Brush Their Teeth

As a parent I do not understand why it is such a hassle sometimes to get our kids to brush their teeth. It is not like it hurts at all.My kids love brushing their teeth. My older child is seven and fights all of the time to not have to brush. I will ask him why and all he says is that I don't like it thatss why. Well we all know that we cannot just let them go without brushing. They eat candy, cookies, all kinds of things with sugars and other things in them that can rot their little teeth fast.

Tips On How I Can Get My Child To Brush At Night

This can become more of a project then just brushing their teeth as they are supposed to. Here are some good ways that you can try that may help you to get your child to brush their teeth better.

1. Try to start them off as early as you can. The sooner they learn how to brush the more they will want to do it.
2. Make a fun game out brushing their teeth.
3. Talk to them about what can happen if they do not brush also you may want to find some nasty pictures of peoples mouths that did not brush and take care of their teeth.
4. Tell them that you want to see them do it all on their own. Say that you do not know how to brush and you have to watch them to learn.
5. If they want to brush your teeth allow them to try at least once.
6. Try using different toothpastes that have flavors to them and let them pick what kind they want to use.
7. Get them a toothbrush and paste with their favorite cartoon character or something they really like.
8. Sing a song for them while they brush. Make up a silly song just for them that has to do with brushing their teeth.
9. Offer them a surprise if they do a whole week of teeth brushing with no problems at all then you can take them to a favorite place like a park or get them a small surprise.
10. I will tell my children if they do not want to brush then they do not want a snack. If they cannot brush then they are not going to be able to eat any snacks. Then I will say well if you do not want to brush then later you will have no teeth to eat snacks and other yummy foods. Also that they are going to have very bad pain in their mouth from the cavities that will form by not brushing.
11. Put on cartoons or shows and give them books that they can look at that teaches them all about brushing their teeth.

Will My Child Eventually Start Brushing

Normally as children get older they will for the most part start to come around and brush their teeth. Some kids just have that lazy syndrome and do not feel like taking five minutes out of their time to get brushing done. While others just do not like that feeling in their mouth. Try some of the techniques I have provided you and you should come out with some good results.
