What games can your children play while riding in the car? I know kids can get very frustrating and annoying when it comes to long car drives. We are always trying to think of different ways to keep them entertained and not asking every 5 minutes if we are there yet. Some times you may even have to pull the car over if you have more then one child they may start to fight or just act out so bad that you want to scream. You will tell them to stop it and they act like they do not hear you. Uggggg what to do? You can make up tons of games to play with them to keep them occupied. This will not only keep them happy but it will take your mind off of how frustrating they can make things. I will list some good childrens' car games that may help you out on a long or even short drive for you and your family to enjoy.

1. I spy is always a great classic game. You say I spy something that's green then each child will take a turn guessing what it is till some one gets it right.
2. You can sing different silly songs and add your own words to make it sillier.
3. The picnic game is always fun. This is when you say we are going on a picnic and going to bring an apple, and then you go through the alphabet and keep adding things on each person has to repeat the whole list and add something for the next letter. If they mess up they have to start allover again.
4. Create a travel journal for the kids. Let them decorate the front cover then either use an already made empty notebook or make your own before you go. As they are on their drive they can write whatever they want in it such as scenes they see, things they have done, places they went, people they met and so on.
5. String figures. All you need for this is a piece of string and see if you can make Jacobs ladder, kitty whiskers, cup and saucer, or even play cat's cradle.
6. Have a scavenger hunt while you are on your journeys. Give the child of things to look for on the way and let them mark it off as they go or you can have them find things that may be in your car too.
7. Pick something in particular to count and see how many of that thing you can find along the way.
8. If this is possible play card games such as old maid, go fish and war
9. If you have a child that is a little older you can print out a map on the computer or get them a real one, as you are driving color in each state that you see a license plate for.
10. Trip bags are fun. You can have 2 of them one empty and as you travel through states collect things at rest stops to put in them. Weather you buy a small trinket or find something that may interest you on the ground (as long as is isn't nasty and can be cleaned off) something like a rock and maybe write the date and place you go tit from. Also have one that is filled with different things to keep you entertained like portable hand held games, cards, coloring or doodle book, cross word books and so on.
