Quiet Time Games For Kids

All children need some down time so they can regain energy from their busy morning. Even if they do not take a nap anymore they still should take some time out to relax. I will give you some ideas for them to be able to do so.These are some of the best quiet time games for kids. You do not half way through the day for your child to become irritable and moody. They will probably start to act out in a manner that is not what you expect of them. No one wants a grouchy kid on their hands it can turn into an ugly situation.

Games Kids Can Play During Quiet Time

1. Set up a relaxing environment in their room. Make the lights low and get shades that make the room darker. Set up a chair tent with blankets for them to go into and read or play with their toys. You can even give them a small radio to listen to music while in their tent. Do this for about an hour or so and let them relax. This also helps your child get use to spending time alone.
2. Try getting things that will not get them all riled up such as a puzzle or a book and sit them in their room or in a quiet room of the house where there is nothing that can distract them.
3. You can make a quiet time spot that the child can relax in if there is more then one child so that all have their own space for time to relax. You can pull the couch out and set a pillow and blanket behind it or make a tent some how. Place one child in their room and one in your room. You can even take an empty closet and transform that into quiet time spot.
4. Coloring is a great quiet time game as well as drawing. Let them use their imaginations to make something that they can post on the fridge.
5. Sewing things together with your help is a great way to do quiet time.
6. Play the quiet time game and see who can remain the quietest for the longest.
7. Get a felt board and let them make different pictures on it using all the different felt they have.
8. Doing bead work is a quiet time game but do not let younger children do this unsupervised. Give them string and let them place beads on it. They can make necklaces and bracelets for themselves or their friends.
9. Lacing flash cards or lacing boards work for quiet time. Give them the card or board and let them lace the strings through the holes.

These are just a few suggestions that may work for your child to enjoy their quiet time along with you. This may even get them to fall asleep from being so relaxing and calm. This is a very important time for the child and you as I said to regain the energy lost through rough play and a busy schedule.
