Bath Time Safety.Bath time is a fun time for you and your child. After a long hard day of getting into dirt, sticky and full of paint or markers bath time is a wonderful way to get clean and have fun all in the same time but this can be a very dangerous as well if you are not on top of things. Your child's life is in your hands at this time so please follow all of these steps for bath time safety and keep your small child healthy and happy.

Safety Tips For Children's Bath Time

  • You should always stay in the bathroom with the child while they are taking their bath even if they do not want you in there. You can pull the curtain but still remain in there until they are at an age where they do not need you to be.
  • Before you place them into the tub make sure that you have everything for the bath you will need. If you have to leave the room either have another adult watch them or take them out of the tub and with you.
  • If you have a baby then you will want to get a baby bath. The regular tub is just way to big for them and you to maneuver with them. A small baby bath will help you from having the child slip out of your hands or go all over the place in the tub.
  • Do not ever carry the tub with the child in it. In case you should fall or the child should some how go under the water.
  • Have a mat at the bottom of the tub. This will make sure your child does not slip and slide all over the tub.
  • Have another mat outside of the tub. Again so when they get out to dry off they are not slipping on the floor either.
  • Make sure that all things that can harm a child are out of their reach such as razors, shaving cream, soaps, anything that is plugged in and so on.
  • Do not over fill the tub the water should come no higher then the child's belly button.
  • Make sure the water is not to hot or cold before placing the child into the tub.You can check with your wrist or buy a special toy that monitors the temperature of the water.
  • Do not place the child near the faucet they may try to turn it on and get burned badly. They could also bang their heads into the faucet itself.
