Are you thinking about hosting a play date at your home. Are you unsure how to go about doing so? 1. Plan the date and set it according to the other children and parents. Make sure that everyone can make it on that date. Also put a time they should arrive and a time it will end on the invitation. One more thing to put on the invitation is if you want them to bring anything with them such as swim suit, towel, snacks or other personal belongings.
2. Try to limit the amount of children that will be coming if you are going to be hosting this playdate alone.
3. Find age appropriate games for them to play. If the child's gathering will be a group of two and three year old's then you know you will not want to have a gigantic pool to play in. It may overwhelm them and can also be a safety issue. Do things that will keep the interest of the children there.
4. If you have any pets you may want to lock them away. This is so it does not scare the children or even the pet.
5. Do not super clean the home. I mean don't leave it in shambles but there is no use to clean it when you are going to have people in and out of the home all day.
6. Find out before hand what the children like to eat, this way you can have some things that each child will eat. You can even have them all bring something small. Also ask about food allergies since you don't want anyone getting sick while on the playdate.
7. Make sure to tell each parent not to put their kids in white or anything new so it does not matter if they get it filthy from playing in dirt, food spillage or whatever else happens to children.
8. Music, play music all of the children will enjoy listening to. What is a play date with no good music.
9. If it will be a themed play date make sure to tell that to the parents so the child can dress up for the occasion.
10. Find out if the children have any allergies to foods, bugs, or anything else before hand. It is nice to know if there should be any kind of problem.
