Tips On Potty Training Boys

Potty training little boys can be a very hard thing to do. Believe me I have 3 boys. Two that are out of diapers and one that just does not want anything to do with the potty. Every time I try to put him on the potty he screams, kicks, hits and just fights me all the way until I take him off of it. I have heard of so many different ways that people have gotten their kids to do it, but none seem to work for my little guy yet. How ever it is not hopeless, I just keep trying more and more things and hope one day they may work I have even had my other 2 trying to help him.I will post up a few tips on potty training boys that have helped me with my other two and hopefully they may help you as well.

How To Potty Train A Little Boy

1. Try with their favorite snack. Tell them if they go on the potty they can have whatever it is they like a lot.
2. Tell them to try and aim for the middle of a cheerio or fruit loop. This will make it like a game to them and all kids love games.
3. If dad is around try to have them watch him go and tell them be a big boy like dad or brother. Tell them look how big they are for using the potty.
4. You can go out and get potty training books, movies, games or toys that teach them.
5. Never give up. Keep the consistency with it.
6. Let them go around without a diaper during the day. Try placing big boy undies on them.
7. If they like to sing make up potty songs while they are on the potty and tell them since the song is being sung they have to do what the song says which is go on the potty.Get them their very own potty chair or one that hooks to the big potty if that is what they prefer.
8. Let them check the potty out and figure things about it. Let them flush it and pull the seat up and down. This way they know it will not hurt them in any way. If it is a little potty chair try to get one that sings when they go.
9. Even if they do not go still praise them for sitting on it and trying. Then tell them maybe next time we can really go.
10. Get some kind of chart for them and tell them ever time they fill up a week of good potty time they will get a small prize of their choice.
11. If this is possible dedicate a lot of time to them. Try telling them every 15 minutes lets try to use the potty and even if they do not go tell them it was a good try and hug and kiss them. Consistency is the key.
12. This one may sound a little gross or extreme but let them sit in there with you while you go and then show them what you have done and tell them well this is what you have to do as well and sit them on their potty and keep doing that.

It may take some time for him to get it down. I can almost guarantee if you try these they may help a little more. You can even try a few of these different methods together and see what happens from there. One thing you never want to do is blame yourself for them not going. When they are ready and they can feel the time is right for them they will just one day get up and go or tell you they have to go. They may even just tell you that they are wet or messy in their diaper, if that is the case you then know they are ready to try the potty training all over again.
