Ahh, food! Who doesn't like food? There is so much to talk about when it comes to food we can barely even get started. Food not only sustains us, it offers pleasure, satisfaction, socializing (what better way to spend a day with friends grilling some great food), and life. There are a million topics about food and we intend to hit them all!
The most basic elements of food are a point of contention to the average person. But in the simplest most easy to relate to terms, there is meat, vegetables, fruits, starch, sugar, and dairy. Almost all food is comprised of these elements, and they are by far the most basic elements of foods that people commonly eat. Some people wish to break it down to simpler elements like protein, carbs, and fat, and some people like to further classify and call poultry and fish foods that fall outside of the meat category. However you wish to slice it, its all still food!
There are as many recipes out there as there are molecules in the Pacific ocean. That may be an exaggeration, but then again, maybe not. We will provide a multitude of food recipes so that you can try your hand at preparing some delicious dishes. Recipes for preparing different kinds of foods range from so simple a child can do it, to so complicated and precise that only a few of the world's most highly skilled chefs can pull them off. Some recipes are just about the taste of the food, while others involve the way the food is presented to the person it will feed. Presentation goes a long way in terms of a good food recipe. If food is visually appealing, it often has the subconscious effect of being more appealing to the taste buds as well.
There is a big interest in healthy food these days. This may be a backlash against a time when healthy food was not much of a concern to the average person, and as a result many people indulged in unhealthy foods. This led to a great deal of obesity, especially in America but in other countries as well. In any case, people tend to be much more health conscious these days so healthy foods are of great importance in today's society.
In addition to the basic (and in some cases advanced) methods of preparing and cooking food listed below, a critical ingredient (pardon the pun) of cooking food is food preparation utensils. These include pots, pans, spatulas, tongs, grilling forks, brushes, teaspoons, tablespoons, rolling pins, meat tenderizers, ladles, whisks, knives, blenders, skimmers, colanders, strainers, drainers, cookie sheets, and turners.
