The difference between annual plants and perennial plants is that an annual plant is done growing within 1 year of planting it. And the perennial will live for 2 or more years. So if you want something that is going to last longer, go with the perennials, these are especially good to grow during the winter months. But maybe you find an annual plant you really like, so you decide to grow one of them. That is ok too, it is just important to understand that when you see annual, it means they are not likely to survive through the seasons unless you take extra special care of them.
Perennials - Woody plants, small shrubs and trees are in this classification. Small plants will blooms and grow in the spring time and summer then will die during autumn along with winter. Then as spring comes back around you will see them starting to come back up all over again.
Annuals - These types of plants are ones that die after 1 year or just one season after they have gotten done blooming. Summer annuals are done between spring and fall and winter annuals germinate over fall. Then they flower and finish their life cycle.
