Flowers you can plant in the winter will be a much smaller selection then if you were to plant them in the summer. I still think the plants and flowers that do grow in the winter are beautiful and accent the snowy and cold weather. It gives your yard a homely look and is very welcoming to guest and neighbors.
What Flowers Can You Plant In The Winter Time?
- Snow drops are a bulb flower.They have small withe flowers on them and thin dark green leaves
- Lavender can grow up to three feet tall. They have a cone shape bunch of purple flowers that grow together and look like one large flower.
- Winter roses are paper textured with plum and green flowers.
- Bergenias have thick purple flowers that have five petals on them.
- Paper daisies have white petals with a yellow middle to them. They also have a thinker stem then other flowers.
- Woodland cyclamens are white, pink or mauve in color.
- Polyanthus come in a variety of different colors. The flowers on this plant are fairly small and have a yellow center.
- Poinsettias come in red or white and they have bigger leaves in size with just about the same size petals as well. This plant is given out mostly at Christmas time.
- Crocus have an orange petal and deep green leaves.
