Most women know that when you carry a purse it is accessory that tops your outfit off. Even a simple purse can make your whole outfit look that much better. I love the vintage purse styles. I am more for the authentic vintage purses but I will use vintage inspired purses from now that look like the purses from older decades. There are vintage purses from all different eras of time. A few famous vintage purse designers are Chanel, Lois Vitton, and Gucci. They are still around today and more popular now then they ever were. These particular brands are a little more on the pricey side but there is always some price to pay to have the latest fashion. Here are some vintage purses from different eras and brands. What Are Some Vintage Purses

• In the 1920's purses and handbags had a lot of beads on them to accent the flapper era. the purses had bright colors, loud patterns and were always lined with satin or silk.
• The 1930's were the movie star and good house wives era. They had purses and hand bags that matched their outfit, and they were made of different materials such as calf, crocodile, pigskin, ostrich, doe, Chamois, lizard as well as snake skins.
• During the 1940's designers had to use their imaginations. They had to use re-worked leathers from older model bags. Though it did not matter to much because this was the time of experimenting with things such as newer materials like rubber and different colors.
• In the 1950's Italy came back around to the to the purse and handbag genre. Leather purses the biggest fashion at the time. It was tanned to make it last longer and could be dyed any color that you wanted for a purse. Again new materials were being used along with making bags more practical and bigger in size. Plastic was one of the materials that was introduced to the handbags and purses. There was a purse style that was called the sausage that was very popular all the way till the end of the 1960s.You can still find vintage sausage purses.
• In the 1960's people saw more and more of the younger generations style with Chanel purses. They were black and patent leather they also had a long gold chain handle. Another popular 60's purse style was called a PVC bag it was shiny and the material was reflective. Many of them had white and black angular designs on them.
• In the 1970s women had just started trying to mix and match different fashions together. Many vintage 70's purses were made to look like patch work. Often this type of purse or bag was made from leather. Then in 1974 they came out with a purse that looked like an envelope. This type of bag is now know as a clutch.
• In the 1980's jean hand bags were one of the most popular styles along with cloth bags that had real long straps and were brightly colored. these purses were usually tied in knots at the top of the handle.

	This is a typical 1930's style purse. Women loved to wear animal skin in the 30's before PETA deemed it Cruel.
	Leather was an extremely popular purse material in the 40's. Most purses from this decade are made of black or colored leather.
	The flapper style of dressing was very popular in the 20's so it only makes sense that their purses would reflect these fashion craze.
