1960's Mini Skirts And Dresses
Mini skirts and dresses were certainly popular in the 60's. The 1960s were the change of the evolution because the youth market demanded their very own styles and they got it. Another reason it has changed was they went by the saying anything goes with fashion. In the early 60s pleated skirts were the in thing as well. They sat right at the young woman's hips they were worn with short sleeve over blouses.Mary Quant in 1965 started to create the mini skirt, this was set about 6 inches above the knee. Almost instantly this new fashion statement had taken off, because girls had never seen something like this before and were very interested in this new fashion of showing more leg and skin off.
What were some of the looks in the 60s mini skirts and dresses
The miniskirts and dresses of the 60s had gotten a lot shorter and tighter as well. They also got a lot more colorful with the clothing lines. The skirt were way above knee level and very skin hugging. The 60s inspired women to do a lot of things that they would have never done in the earlier years of their life. I guess they felt as though they had enough and it was time for a new change in their life to try. They were made from cotton and other materials like pvc which was used in rain macs.
