Are you unfamiliar with using makeup, but you have a prom coming up and do not want to spend a fortune to have your makeup done for you? That is quite alright, I am going to give you some great tips on how to do your makeup for prom. People will not even believe that you have done this yourself when you tell them. This is going to be one of the most memorable times of your life, so do not ruin it with some terrible makeup or go in there looking as though you have just come from the circus.

Great Makeup Tips For Prom Night

1. You will want to practice first, so a few weeks before prom, try a whole bunch of different styles that you may like and as soon as you find the perfect look, run with it. Write it down, take a picture of your face, keep all of the makeup you have chosen in a safe place until prom night. Anything that you have to do, to remember what you have done, do it.
2. First, clean the face free of oils, dirt or pre-existing makeup.
3. Liquid foundation should be put on first. Then find the color that goes with your skin and try to match it up as perfect as possible. If needed, a lot of women go all the way to the neck with it so you cannot see a chin line.
4. Next, you can use a powder foundation that will keep the liquid in place better. Again, match this to the skin color as well as possible and blend it in real well.
5. If you naturally have short eye lashes, either you can get false eyelashes or find a mascara that gives your lashes volume along with a lengthening feature that is also water proof.
6. When putting on eye shadow, you can get a makeup palette to match colors you are using together. If you are going for an emphasizing look, then go with colors that match your skin. To bring it out even more you can use a sheer black shadow in the crease and bottom lid. When you blend your makeup, do not just rub it in, you want to take it from the outside corner to inside. And last, but not least, use a bronze or even a silver shimmer color.
7. For the lips, I like to use just a very light colored gloss, which emphasizes the lips. Without leaving a caked up mess on the lips. But if you choose to use lip stick, then make sure if you are doing the eyes up then keep the lipstick lighter then the eyes. Then, get a lip liner and line the lips out. Next, find a stick that is light in color to tone it down a bit.
8. This is just my opinion, you do not need blush after the steps I have already told you, but if you choose to do this as well, again, find a light or even nude color and apply to the apple of the cheek to the end of the bone and blend it into the cheek real good.
