Educational Vacation Destinations

When you hear the word vacation the last thing you think about is education. I personally think going on vacation is learning experience in itself. Especially if you have never been to the place you are vacationing at. Chances are wherever you may be going will have museums, old historic buildings, tours around the area and other attractions that teach you about that areas history and different events that occurred. If you ask me that is very educational and informative. Well if you want to get the best out of your vacation I will post up a list of educational vacation destinations, so you can have fun and learn all at the same time.

Educational Vacations Ideas

• Thailand. The Mahout Course at Anantara Resort Golden Triangle. They teach you everything about elephants. In this area the elephant is still a very well respected animal and it is important to know how to work and interact with these beautiful creatures. Teaching and working with elephants takes a good deal of time for most it will take years. Trainers will teach you some of the commands the elephants learn, which there are over 70 commands. The trainers will also show you some of the hand motions used to direct the pachyderms.
• Washington. At Pilchuck glass house you can spend 17 days learning how to blow glass. However there are only 5 courses that are given out each year. They are only on the month of May till September. This spot teaches things like kiln-casting, flame working, and blowing glass. This course wants you to be creative and come up with a master piece of your very own, using all of your very own ideas and thoughts.
• New York. New York is jam packed with educational spots you can visit. From the history of the statue of liberty to the The museum of moving images, where you can touch and learn everything.
• South Dakota. South Dakota is the home of Mt Rushmore. Which is the heads of four of the United States presidents. There is even a welcome center that offers the history of how this statue came about. You can also view a movie about this monument.
• Pennsylvania. Gettysburg is known for the one of the largest fights that ever occurred during the Civil War. You can see some of the different battle fields, learn about the battles that went on, not to mention the different monuments and the history behind all of them as well. Another great landmark to soak up information on is the Gettysburg cemetery, where all of the soldiers were buried.
• California Napa is known as the king of grapes. There is a program that goes on for 3 days in which people whom are staying are encouraged to try all kinds of different wines in different hotels, this is before they go out to collect their own grapes. The guests are then taught to set up the grapes and combine them to get the right flavors and blends. If the people staying come back in the next year they will have the chance to taste the wine they had made. Of course this will be before the secret ingredients are added to complete the wine for the best flavor. The final step is adding the private label, then letting it sit for another 3 months. The best part is then it is divided up between all of the group and sent to the person that made it.

So there you have it, some vacation spots that are not only fun but you get the best learning experience ever. Not to mention it is hands on learning not all just talking and listening. Getting involved in the learning experience makes it that much more fun.
